Ketak Craft
7/19/20241 min read

The “Ketak” style of handycraft originated on the island of Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara.
Ketak (lygodium circinnatum) is a kind of climbing plant growing throughout Indonesia and specifically in West Lombok.
The Ketak fiber is the primary material we use to weave our beautiful designs. Approximately 95% of our 30 ketak weavers are local women.
Our program provides job opportunities which helps to improve our local economy, empower
our community and create sustainable environmental programs through the collecting and cleaning of the plastic bag trash and finally combining the recycled plastic with ketak to produce beautiful woven designs.
Mission
Empowering communities through sustainable recycling and traditional craftsmanship.
